California Dreaming

When I woke up and saw the snow piled streets and heard the blowing wind, the last thing I wanted to do was take a walk through today’s blizard.  Though that is exactly what I did!  My mom called me up as I was blow drying my hair and asked if I wanted to meet her for lunch.  Of course!  Always up for a lunch date.  So I grabbed my to do list and jumped in her car where we slowly crawled to the restaurant.  I had also brought along my set of original plans for the condo I am designing because I needed to get prints made today, because all our bluprint shops are closed on Saturday and Sunday and I needed them for Monday.

Well, mother and I enjoyed a leisurely lunch, but we decided that we had better get going because we had a long list of things to accomplish before I had to be at work.  So, we walk out to the car and my mom gasps, her hand flying to her mouth.

oh no.  I knew it immidiately.  She had locked her KEYS IN HER CAR!  Blast.  What to do?  We sat there for a minute staring in disbelief, my condo plans all rolled up and sitting in the window, taunting me from inside the car.  Well, I called my dad (who works an hour away from where we were) and he said he didn’t think there were any spare keys in the house, but we could check.  Well that’s nice, how were we going to check?  Aha.  This is where living in right in town comes in handy.  Well, you probably guessed it- we WALKED back to my place through the STREETS (because the sidewalks were impassable) in several inches of snow (me in my super cute, but super impractical plaid canvas wedges) as onlookers gaped at us like we were idiots.

Icicle Anyway, we spent the early afternoon trying to find a way to retrive my prints and save mom’s produce, and here I am at work while my mother is at the bluprint shop.  And what a memory we made!
Here’s a picture I snapped once I got to work:

Have a happy Friday!

The wonderful world of Teesha Moore

Imagination

Teesha_moore_cardsAlright, so I am one who occoasionally pines for those really collagey (is that a word?) and really layered styles, but for the most part, I just feel like less really is more.  However, Teesha Moore has some FABulous stuff that makes me want to branch out a bit.

I was looking through her site, out of curiosity (and inspiration) and noticed that she has some really awesome stamps available for purchase.Teesha_moore_stamp_2_2

Some of these stamps are pretty fantastical, and a bit too odd for my taste (hence the name, Teeshaslandofodd), but a lot of the stamps would be fantastic to have!  There are some great quote blocks available, and also some lovely flourishes and doodles that I’m not sure I could accomplish if I attempted them on my own.  Well, anyway, they would at least be a time saver.  (and frustration saver, for that matter!)

If I were to buy any of the stamps today, I think that I would probably chose these two: Swirl1_2  Swirl_2_2They might be kind of hard to see here, but click on the small image and you will see that they are very beautiful.  And if I don’t buy any of her stamps, I will at least have been inspired by her beautiful works of art!

Avatars_3Well, it’s time I changed my avatar from a "couple" picture to a "me" picture! Hubby happily obliged me with his time to snap some shots of me, and this is what we’ve got to work with.

I can’t make up my mind, so I need your advice! Vote on which picture should be my new avatar for here and for SIStv.

THANKS! I can never make up my mind about anything.
