California Dreaming

When I woke up and saw the snow piled streets and heard the blowing wind, the last thing I wanted to do was take a walk through today’s blizard.  Though that is exactly what I did!  My mom called me up as I was blow drying my hair and asked if I wanted to meet her for lunch.  Of course!  Always up for a lunch date.  So I grabbed my to do list and jumped in her car where we slowly crawled to the restaurant.  I had also brought along my set of original plans for the condo I am designing because I needed to get prints made today, because all our bluprint shops are closed on Saturday and Sunday and I needed them for Monday.

Well, mother and I enjoyed a leisurely lunch, but we decided that we had better get going because we had a long list of things to accomplish before I had to be at work.  So, we walk out to the car and my mom gasps, her hand flying to her mouth.

oh no.  I knew it immidiately.  She had locked her KEYS IN HER CAR!  Blast.  What to do?  We sat there for a minute staring in disbelief, my condo plans all rolled up and sitting in the window, taunting me from inside the car.  Well, I called my dad (who works an hour away from where we were) and he said he didn’t think there were any spare keys in the house, but we could check.  Well that’s nice, how were we going to check?  Aha.  This is where living in right in town comes in handy.  Well, you probably guessed it- we WALKED back to my place through the STREETS (because the sidewalks were impassable) in several inches of snow (me in my super cute, but super impractical plaid canvas wedges) as onlookers gaped at us like we were idiots.

Icicle Anyway, we spent the early afternoon trying to find a way to retrive my prints and save mom’s produce, and here I am at work while my mother is at the bluprint shop.  And what a memory we made!
Here’s a picture I snapped once I got to work:

Have a happy Friday!
