Lemondrops and Gumdrops

The constant drizzling of rain leads me to think that Spring is officiall on its way! But I’m still not sure because it’s so cold outside! In any case, raindrops lead me to… think of umbrella fashion! Umbrellas are accessories too, right? Currently, my umbrella of choice has been a clear umbrella I found on ebay a couple years ago. But that was before I found pareumbrella, a company located where else, but Sunny Seattle! Umbrellas
So which one should I get?

I was flipping through my How magazine last month and in their featured books section saw this: The Hand Job  and had to snicker at the name.  I’m always on the lookout for graphic design books for my brother (graphic designer) but this one I was thinking about getting for myself!  Take a peak inside:

Handjob
Handjob2
Handjob3

The book is all about how corporate companies are going back to the hand made type in their advertising and design.  Intriguing, no?

Ode to Jim

James_stewart
Some of you know that I have this crazyobsession with James Stewart.  I mean crazy, like I actually spent a weekend in his hometown (call it my pilgrimage to Mecca).  It started at a young age, from my love of his movies, of course.  Mrsmithpicuse As a middle schooler I was actually moved to tears by his performance in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington.  (Maybe it was just puberty- who knows?)
In any case, my friends tease me about it (perhaps because I have told them about my dreams in which Jimmy confesses his undying love for me) and on one of these teasing occassions, I was shocked when a bystanding friend said, "Jimmy Stewart?  It figures- a rupbulican!"  A republican?  Quickly I realized he thought we meant Jimmy Carter.  He didn’t know who Jimmy Stewart was!  Shocker!  Just in case any of you might also be so unfortunate, I wanted to do a little post about my hero.  So if you have never seen a Jimmy Stewart movie (which I bet many of you have seen It’s a Wonderful Life) you must do so immediately.
Here’s one of my favorite clips from It’s a Wonderful Life:

Actually, I’ve been wanted to scrap a Jimmy page for a while now, but I can’t seem to get started, for fear of making a page not worthy of his wonderfulness (new word?).  I thought that Janine’s Elvis page was such a fabulous tribute.  And I wasn’t sure if I wanted to try and then proceed to screw up a Jimmy tribute.  But Julie (bmwgirl from SIStv) sent me some of his postage stamps in the mail last month…. and so now I feel a little motivated to use them in a LO perhaps.  I’m in desperate need of inspiration for scrapping with stamps.  PLEASE feel free to send any links my way!!!

Tag, I’m it!

Luggage_tag_2Well, last night I purchased a blue round carry-on case from ebay.  I’m so excited to get it!  When I do, be assured I will take pictures and post them.  I plan on buying a rectangular white set to coordinate with the round blue case.
Along the same lines as yesterday’s post, I’m going to share some luggage lusts- only this time, luggage tags!  Naturally, a quest for super cute tags follows my successful quest for fabulous vintage luggage!  The tags to the left are two of many amazing luggage tags that I found on Flight 001’s website.  There’s a montage of more of their tags below.  Many of them come with matching passport cases, although I don’t plan on buying one because I rarely travel abroad.

Well, these are a few cute ones, but I think I found the one I want from Maluhia’s Etsy store.  I just might buy a couple!
