Ode to Jim
Some of you know that I have this crazyobsession with James Stewart. I mean crazy, like I actually spent a weekend in his hometown (call it my pilgrimage to Mecca). It started at a young age, from my love of his movies, of course.
As a middle schooler I was actually moved to tears by his performance in Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. (Maybe it was just puberty- who knows?)
In any case, my friends tease me about it (perhaps because I have told them about my dreams in which Jimmy confesses his undying love for me) and on one of these teasing occassions, I was shocked when a bystanding friend said, "Jimmy Stewart? It figures- a rupbulican!" A republican? Quickly I realized he thought we meant Jimmy Carter. He didn’t know who Jimmy Stewart was! Shocker! Just in case any of you might also be so unfortunate, I wanted to do a little post about my hero. So if you have never seen a Jimmy Stewart movie (which I bet many of you have seen It’s a Wonderful Life) you must do so immediately.
Here’s one of my favorite clips from It’s a Wonderful Life:
Actually, I’ve been wanted to scrap a Jimmy page for a while now, but I can’t seem to get started, for fear of making a page not worthy of his wonderfulness (new word?). I thought that Janine’s Elvis page was such a fabulous tribute. And I wasn’t sure if I wanted to try and then proceed to screw up a Jimmy tribute. But Julie (bmwgirl from SIStv) sent me some of his postage stamps in the mail last month…. and so now I feel a little motivated to use them in a LO perhaps. I’m in desperate need of inspiration for scrapping with stamps. PLEASE feel free to send any links my way!!!

OMG, that is so sweet. I love Jimmy too! He’s absolutely amazing. There are so many movies that I love with him in it, but I adore High Society, for many reasons. He’s a nice crush to have. I’m personally over the moon for Jon Bon Jovi! I understand your crush. I hope you have a very beautiful day for your wedding. Looking forward to the pictures!!!!
Can’t wait to see your layout girl! That’s a neat-o idea for one!
