The Locals Abroad
I whole heartedly agree with Cheryl. A new album would be nice, fellas! Local Natives is one of my favorites. I particularly love the hauntingly beautiful sounds created by their take-away show in a fancy-pants shopping mall.

Throw in some low-fi recording with harmonica playing and perfect-pitch whistling, and I’m just a goner. That’s all there is to it. I’m not sure when it happened, but I’m just a sucker for some gold ol’ fashioned southern-inspired music.
Some boys from my town have a beautiful sounding band that hits me right here (here being my music soul, I guess?). Fast Molasses and the Flavored Blacks have come a long way since they made this trippy video two years ago, so if you’re into this kind of music too, check out their Myspace page. (My friend Josh is the guy in this video, and fortunately, he has changed his hair since then. ;))

I thought this was absolutely beautiful, and perhaps you will too. P.S. Sometimes I want to be Greta Garbo.
