Rainy days and Wednesdays

Oh yeah.  And in case you guys didn’t believe me when I said sometimes I freak out about little things. And get all panicky. Well, that’s what happened when I saw the sketch
of the vellum layout, and then looked at the actual finished product.

Hmmm.  They didn’t match.

And so what did I have to do? Of course, I had to fix it. Ripped out all of the stitches, and fixed it. I feel so much better now. I’ve got problems.  This I know.

I like crafting.
I like decorating.
Stands to reason that I would like crafting decor items.
But I don’t.
Not my style.
Until now.
haHA!
The prompt at TAIF this week is to use sewing patterns.
And in my search for sewing patterns,
I realized that my sewing supplies are extremely unorganized.
So I grabbed a craft box
and I grabbed my sewing patterns and spray mount…
and made this:

Sewing_box2

A box for thread and little bits.
I wanted the label to look cross stitched,
but didn’t feel like stitching…
so I just used a green sharpie
and made a bunch of Xs.

Anyway, I love how shear the sewing patterns are,
and how when I layer them, I get a cool graphic look.
It’s something I’m definitely going to use again.

Okay, so maybe it’s not decor.
Maybe it is.
But it’s awfully practical,
and I think it’s nice to look at.
So there ya have it!
Go play!

Peaceout

the endless summer

This week’s The Art is Found prompt is about using photos as a title. My mini album I made is called Body Shop… the photo is one I took of a local Body Shop! It’s full of all sorts of self esteem stuff. Personal photos of my body (all G-rated!) and photos I took of signs around town. I’m intrigued by Debee‘s work with spray paint… so I tried it out a bit more in this book.
