It’s one of those romantic mysterious movies…

…but not the scary kind. Just the kind that feels magical. The kind a little girl wants to watch over and over again. I was that little girl. And I think I still am. The movie is The Secret Garden. And when I was thinking about how to decorate the inside of my magical box with the secrets of my heart, it was common sense to make it a garden of sorts.

So I cut up a bunch of silk flowers and glued them down on the inside! More little bits of me that i created for Kara’s class will go inside of the box too. The contents are a work in progress, so I’ll share them with you later. :)

Mod Podge

always ends up translated as “modge podge” as soon as it escapes my lips. Sort of like how I always say “Reesies Piecies” instead of Reeses Pieces. When I waitressed at Friendlys, I had a customer call me out on my mispronunciation of the candy. But considering I will just be typing mod podge today, we should be good to go.

So yes… the deliciously goopy paste that comes in a jar. And let’s not forget gesso! More pasty white goodness. You’ll probably want both of these for Kara‘s up and coming class. (let’s hope she lists some more spots in the shop!) And take it from me, the class will be a wonderful experience! She asked me to guest design for the class, and I was absolutely tickled pink (and maybe even a deep shade of red) to do so! Not only have I been feeling inspired creatively, but I feel pushed (in a good way!) in my journaling and composition of the “innards.”

And speaking of innards, I’m pretty excited still about the inside of the box I made for the class. I’m still working on getting good photos of the inside of the box, so you’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see it. But for now, here’s the “outside of the box.” :)

The box is just one part of the class, but Lord knows I love boxes. I have some other news coming up very soon that I’m kinda excited about. :) And I hope you will be too! Stay tuned!

Oh dear.

Jera

I don’t what to do with Valentine’s Day. The stubborn side of me wants to completely ignore it, because if I “celebrate,” I will just be giving in to the commercialization of everything in this country. But the romantic feminine side of me wants to seize the day and be completely lovey dovey as well as somewhat extravagant. :) What do you guys think? What’s your “norm” for Valentine’s Day? Do you even have a norm? I don’t. But maybe I’m just not old enough to have one yet. ha

Speaking of Valentine’s Day… I made a layout for Hambly Studios featuring some of their lovely pink paper and rub ons. Showcasing some friend-love.

I love the photography rub ons, and I will admit- I love vellum! Come on guys, it’s making a come back. I know I’ve been saying that for months now…. but I’m determined to continue using vellum! So anyway, I used the vellum to hold the photography rub ons and the Valentine’s Day rub ons from Hambly, because I didn’t want to break up the page too much by using an opaque paper… but I wanted the little grouping to have some presence.
