Inspired By: Vintage Velvet & Tapestry Pillows
In decorating my home, I desperately try to maintain the delicate balance between vintage granny, bohemian hippie, and Scandinavian modern. The key to the granny aspect? Lots of florals, lace, and needlework. For the Scandinavian, I stick with white walls, enjoy my Saarinen knock-off side table, and lust after other designer pieces I cannot afford. To add more of a bohemian vibe, I like to display kilim rugs on the floors, ombre dye my curtains, and have lots of pillows strewn about.
But when two of my favorite decor styles meet in the middle? Perfection! I think granny pillows from around the 1960s are to die for, and if you do too, well, you’re in luck! I’ve just rounded up my favorite ones from various Etsy sellers below:
- Row One | First Pillows: Happy Go Vintage $29.50
- Row One | Second Pillow: Scout and Rescue $38
- Row One | Third Pillow: Star Gazun Designs $32
- Row Two | First Pillow: Passed By $30
- Row Two | Second Pillow: The Art Floozy $26.95
- Row Two | Third Pillows: Retro Treasure Hunters $28
- Row Three | First Pillows: Timeless Magpie $28
- Row Three | Second Pillows: 7:BC $55
- Row Three | Third Pillow: Atomic Salvage $20

These are beautiful! And I think your description is spot-on in terms of my ideal interior.
Ooh, LOVE these Mandi. My dad collections middle eastern rugs and my childhood home is covered in them. He also is really into Moroccan furniture and pieces from the 1700s. He’s an antiques sort of guy. These would look gorgeous in my parents home. And I might need some too :)

those two round green and orange floral pillows gave me an instant burst of nostalgia. I think maybe my grandparents had a couch in that pattern? either way, those are added to my etsy favorites for sure. now if I could ever nail down my personal interior style, maybe I’d get off the fence and actually buy some new (old) things for my living room.
they are so adorable. I love love love white walls and decorating the rest with soft fabrics and floral patterns, I don’t know. It just reminds me of spring and summer on the country side, and old days. =)
I’m loving all those pillows! We don’t have very many around our living room, but they certainly add a nice touch.
I love every single one of those pillows!!
i like the pillow.. love it! :)

It’s so funny that I looked at things like granny pillows when I was a kid and thought “… why does my grandma keep these??” And now I just love them!

I have a lot of pillows that use antique textiles. It’s so funny to hear you call them “Granny” pillows, but I guess that’s what they look like to people. Love the vintage, great post.
The colors and fabrics you have used really fantastic. I’ve been having so much fun of your creation. Because of your design making our new house. You have really done the too much work. It’s amazing pillows and fabric are too wonderful.
