Inspired By: Stolen from Grandma

Today I’m pleased to share with you some fashion inspiration from the young and wise Claire, of Stolen From Grandma. Thanks for participating, Claire! I think you are wonderfully adorable.

Q: How would you describe your personal style?
A: I really love to experiment and have fun with what i wear, so i feel as if my style is constantly evolving. I enjoy mixing vintage with more modern pieces, so my style is almost like a schizophrenic grandma!

Q:. What do you look for when you go thrifting?
A: The thing i love most about thrifting is that you never know what you’ll find. I love the process of entering a thrift store and being able to sift through hundreds of different items. I discovered early that if you go thrifting for a certain thing, you’ll not only be hunting forever, but you’ll also disregard a whole load of amazing things along the way. It’s best to go with an open mind.

Q: What are four items in your wardrobe that you can wear again and again?
A: Bally loafers, denim cut off’s, tan leather satchel and faux fur jacket :)

Q. What is your go to outfit when you peek inside your wardrobe and simply can’t find anything to wear?
A: It’s usually one of my dresses. I have a couple of granny tea dresses that are so perfect if i’m in a rush to get somewhere quickly. The good thing about dresses is that you can add a few layers to change the look of  them completely. (Especially handy if you’re like me and have these mornings on a regular basis!)

Q: Do you have any simple fashion advice for someone who is just beginning to develop their unique style?
A: Dress for yourself, and don’t let anyone else influence your own style choices. How boring would it be if we all conformed?

Awwww Claire is cute as a button and I love how she can be granny chic one day, and sophisticated Mary Tyler Moore type on another day. Very cute and very cool interview.

what amazing style, miss stolen from grandma! i love the advice (and that you asked)what advice would she have for someone just starting to develop an individual style. i think that is always important to remember how to be positive and dress for yourself, and what style you want to reflect, and overall what is most comfortable.

Super great energy! It’s amazing really how Grandma’s sometimes nail their style, sure they’ve had lots of years to practice, but they are so classically feminine, floral, ruffly, figure flattering. I suppose that’s why we thrift for vintage gold mines!!!
I’d sure like to play a game of Bridge with both of you,
    muah!
