Our kitchen is looking pretty stark these days. Too stark for my liking. I left the cabinet door off of one cupboard to add a little prettiness, but I think the next step would be filling the empty wall space above the stove. Right now I’m just figuring out what I’d like to put there. My head is telling me to make it functional, but my heart is saying pretty, pretty, pretty! I think these images show that I can definitely make both work.

those images are so inspiring and pretty. Since you as well purchase vintage dining wear, do you know what kind of plates are bad to eat off of? I see pretty vintage plates that are painted and from holland for instance and they don’t say anything besides the maker on the back of them. I wonder this about enamel pans as well.

  2. Oooh – how I love the colors in your inspiration pictures! :) the dishes & vintage are to-die-for! Can’t wait to see what you do to your space. :)

  7. so inspiring. I wish I had wall space in my kitchen but alas, I don’t. There are cabinets up covering them.

Um, I love this kitchen! It is so cheery and the touches of vintage and collected items are wonderful. The spice rack of tea canisters is a great idea. I have mine lines up on the counter, but I would love to display them like the photo.

  10. oh my, how lovely ! Levaing the doors off is a fab idea!

black and white checkered floors and a teal wall? uh yes puh-leeze!!

  14. That’s one colorful kitchen you have there. The colors make the room a lot more lively compared to those kitchens which use a monochrome theme.
