Inspired By: Chevron Blankets
I mentioned before that I was working on a coverlet for my bed. Well, meet the inspiration! I think there’s something so “bohemian granny” about a crocheted blanket for a bed, and a chevron one really modernizes it for a current style.
I’ve subconsciously been craving one of these blankets, which is obvious by the last photo in this post, and by most of this post! Fortunately, it occurred to my conscious mind that I really need one to complete my bedroom restyle. So, I’ve been spending many hours working on a queen size coverlet (I used this video to learn how.) that measures 100 inches wide. I think I have my work cut out for me, eh?

I have a crocheted chevron blanket. I highly recommend it!
Mine was a gift when I graduated high school and is in my college colors, which luckily aren’t too bad (cream, black, and maroon).
Gorgeous blankets! I want a crocheted chevron now too!!
Good luck! I’ve been working on a granny square quilt for our bed and it has taken quite a bit of time so far but I’m in the home stretch! My grandma gifted us a crocheted chevron blanket last year for Christmas and we love it.
Those are great! My grandma made many MANY chevron blankets and my moms closet is full of them. I should go through them sometime and see if any match my home. :)
Oh my gosh I want that! I cannot even fathom how long that would take me because the only thing I can crochet is a chain. I’m going to watch that video and learn how because that is the coolest thing ever!
Good luck on yours!!! =]

Eeek! :) Lovely!! Your colors are darling! I see these all the time in vintage pattern books and they have my heart. :) And I feel ya – I just started a 160 square circle granny blanket for my bedroom and it’s daunting! Daunting, but *so* worth it! :)
Wow, you have a fun project ahead of you lady. Time consuming but so so worth it. Can’t wait to see your new bedroom design along with the coverlet. This time of year is just perfect for this kind of project! Good Luck!
I’m working on one, too! Well, actually, two different blankets for my bed: one is more of a rippled chevron (not quite so peaked) and the other is a knit log cabin blanket (reminiscent of the pillow in that last gorgeous photo!). I love love love the colors you chose, so calm and rich.
I sometimes wish that knitting/crocheting things for other people wasn’t my job, because I feel like I’m never going to finish either of my blankets…but then I remember how awesome making things for others is! I just need to make a little more ‘me-time’ for once. ;)
i started a chevron blanket for my son’s bed this summer. i’m probably a third of the way done, and his bed is only a twin. it’s going be amazing when it’s done, and in the mean time it’s a nice long term project.
i’ve also got a chevron scrapghan going. reading this post makes me want to bust that yarn eater out!
Aw. They remind me of my granny in the best way possible.
XOXO
Ooooh I love those colors! And lol Bohemian Granny ;] Love.

It’s going to look awesome! Learning to crochet has been on my to do list for the longest time, unfortunately I have the memory of a goldfish, have been taught a couple of times and can never remember any of it!
My mother in-law just made me the most amazing black, white, and light blue chevron blanket. I’m in love with it!
You gotta love You Tube. Any tutorial you could think of right there at your fingertips! Your blanket is looking fantastic! You’ve got me pondering now…!

Woaw… Great job! And great result! It inspires me too…. thank you!
The things I would do to own such a blanket, they’re so lovely!
Off topic, but could I ask what font you use for notating on your photos? It’s rather lovely. . .
Oh pretty, pretty!
oh, yes, yes, your blanket will complete your home beautifully! I wish I knew how to make one myself, as they are so cozy looking!
p.s. your colors are lovely too..
SaWEET! That looks tough! good luck :)
I can’t way to see how it turns out!
I can never get the Chevron pattern to look so good! Love it! Great color choices.
Very nice! I’ve always loved chevron blankets. My boyfriend has a giant one on his king size bed that I’ve been coveting.
I know it will look awesome. My grand-mother was always working on one of these chevron afghans (very similar to your first photo). She made me one when my mother redecorated my room, twenty years ago, and I still have it. I’m working on a granny square blanket now, but when that’s finished, I think I’ll make one like she used to make. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
i love chevron for the bed! i have my favorite crochet vintage chevron as a sofa cover in my living room in great vintage color combo. ivory, rustic red, brown, & rustic orange. it has been my favorite find for the home!
so so glorious! I love chevrons, too! I want to make a chevron patchwork quilt at some point, but patchwork honestly terrifies me. Thus why I’m in Rachel’s Modern Patchwork class!
