Thanksgiving is my favorite- because it means decorating for Christmas! :) Last night Phil and I got rid of all the turquoise, put up our fake trees (TWO trees! My parents weren’t using their old one, and we actually had room this year for two.), and put up lights and such around the apartment.

We made cocktails with colors of the season and goofed around just the two of us. I don’t think we ended up even having dinner, though, because we were both so stuffed from an earlier meal at my parents’ home.

Tonight I’m hosting another game night at our place, and I’m so excited for the beginning of the holiday party season. It seems that we have at least three parties every weekend from here on out!

Two years ago I made these stocking out of thrifted sweaters. I just cut the shapes and stitched together the front and the back on my sewing machine. Seeing them on my giant fireplace makes me think maybe I should make bigger ones this year, though!

Lately I’ve been trying to be a better housekeeper. Maybe it’s my brain reacting to watching too many consecutive episodes of Mad Men? In any case, I’m trying my best, but apparently it’s not good enough for my weakest little houseplant. I just forget about the darn things! Maybe I should set an alarm each day to remember to water the plants? Yeah?

Thought I’d let you guys into my home for a bit and show you what’s happening. The radiators are on, things are cozy, and I’m gearing up for the holiday season. What’s going on at your place?
