I might not be one for wearing jeans… but denim dresses? They’re a go. This particular dress, with its bronzed snaps and 70’s style sleeves makes me feel like an all-American girl, through and through. What I really want to wear is a 70’s style denim mini skirt. But, well, you know… I guess I’ll have to wait for next summer to do that! And yes- I am already planning next year’s outfits! It’s what’s getting me through this Summer, sartorially speaking.

There’s still 13 weeks of brewing this baby, if all goes well… but gosh darn if I don’t feel big enough already! I think the rest of me is catching up with my belly, slowly but surely. So I’ve been thinking about wearing black more often to feel a little slimmer. Something I normally don’t give a rat’s tail about. I’ve got to admit, I’m starting to wonder if I can keep up my attempts at stylish maternity wear during this last trimester. What’s a girl to do when she turns into a giant blueberry blackberry? They might have to roll me into the delivery room, Violet Beauregarde style.

Every time I wear this skirt, I think of watermelon. It’s the perfect shade of green, and I’ve actually considered replacing the lining with a pretty pink satin, just to enjoy a good ol’ inside joke with myself. A literal inside joke. ;) Anyways, taking my literalism to a whole new level, I’ve donned this watermelon-like skirt and stuffed a baby inside of it to give it the nice round shape you would expect from a nice melon. But now, all of this talk of watermelon has made me hungry! Good thing I have some saved in the fridge!
