WHAT I WORE | Maternity Style – 38 weeks + 5 days

On the cusp of my third trimester, I began to really miss my vintage dresses. Their structured waists and fitted busts just don’t work with a pregnant girl’s body, though. So I began scouring Etsy for something to tide me over for the duration. I found this cute house dress after searching for “trapeze dress” in the vintage section. When it arrived at my door, I chopped off the sleeves, and shortened the length to my knees. Sometimes turning a somewhat frumpy vintage housedress into something stylish is as simple as a little snip, snip, stitch, stitch! (And speaking of housedresses…. I feel like a house. ha!)

WHAT I WORE | Maternity Style- 37 weeks 6 days

You guys! Tomorrow I am 38 weeks pregnant! That means two weeks until my due date. Where the heck did the time go? Lately my days have been absolutely flyyying by as I try to tie up lots of loose ends in my life before the little girl arrives. Lots of doctor appointments, visits with friends and loved ones, cleaning (lots of cleaning!), organizing, and even a reupholstery job or two (I know, I’m crazy)! Phil and I declared Labor Day a day to prepare for labor, and now I’m pleased to see we are all set. Even our bags are packed! So come on, little girl! We all want to meet you!

WHAT I WORE | Maternity Style – 35 Weeks

Back in black! I told you this was a good color for maternity style. And it’s just classic, right?. Really can’t go too wrong with black and white. I added a bright little touch with a vintage enamel brooch in a lovely shade of blue (that I would never wear aside from jewelry), and put on a dark shade of red lipstick. These little touches along with some modestly stacked heels really help a growing glowing girl feel pretty!

P.S. This dress has been a favorite of mine throughout my pregnancy! I love the ’60s style and the stretchy fabric! See it worn a bit differently here. It’s sold out, but ASOS has some other great maternity options here.
