I’ve been busy,

as you can very well see!

The kit will be full of original paper designs, vintage mag reproductions, and vintage cut sheets.  Here they are so far!  I personally can't wait for them to go to press so that I can begin creating!  I've always loved using vintage images in my mini books, but it breaks my heart to cut up a treasure of a magazine.  Next I will be working on making the wooden covers!  Hopefully the kit will be ready by the end of June, just in time for summer!

So, I have a question for you.

Would you be interested in a limited edition vintage inspired kit with magazine reproductions, vintage buttons, fabric and lace, exclusive paper designs by me, Jenni Bowlin goodies, and an exclusive plywood mini album made by me?

Vintage goodness

Because that's what I'm working on.  And I'd love to know what you think!

Exciting things

have been happening.
For one…
I have been working on finishing a book for Kara‘s class.

For two…
I will be working with my friend Jera in photographing two weddings this summer! Very exciting. And nerve racking. Jera has done it before. I have not. Which it why I asked her to help me out. I couldn’t say no when I was asked… partly because I wanted to get my feet a little wet. But mostly because I know what it’s like to be a bride without a lot of cash, and if I can help some friends save money while giving them great photos, I’m game.

For three… I have had some amazing shopping adventures for the shop!

I’ve been having trouble deciding how to brand the shop. I want it to feel modern, but retro, but also timeless and classy. Ah! The options. I’ve tried a few different banners in the past month or so. Also what has prompted some changes in my mind is the fact that I’ve been advertising. This month I had a slot at A Cup of Joe. So I had to come up with a small 160×60 pixel image for Joanna’s blog. Next month I plan on advertising at Frolic. Which prompted me to rethink the whole “look” of the shop. I’m still thinking about it…. but here’s my before and afters:

And here are the little ad spot images:

What do you guys think? I’m being totally indecisive right now. But I would like to decide before my ad shows up at Frolic. This weekend will be busy with posting Looooots of new fun things in the shop! I just want to keep it all. But I haven’t the room to keep or the days to wear everything! :)

Oh… and number 4 thing keeping me busy, is this new endeavor of mine. I have had lots of people ask me if I do design work for blogs and such. And I have never been ready with an answer until I created this blog especially for a little design portfolio. And the very next day after creating said portfolio, the lovely Elizabeth Kartchner contacted me, wondering if I would work on her blog. Great timing! Well, her blog is almost complete (just one more html shift to go) and I’ve decided to go public.

So…. my brother shakes his head and tells me I am waaaay undercharging. But, I know you bloggers/Etsyers don’t have loads of cash, and neither do I. So next time you need someone to take on the task of design work for you, you know where to click. :)

Well, I’ll be back soon with my work for Kara’s class.
How is everyone doing? I miss your lovely comments! :)

Peaceout
