Archie’s Story

_MG_4032

Look at this face. How could you resist it? This little guy wormed his way into my heart two years ago when I first met him. Sir Duke Archibald IV (such a big name for a little dude!) was a friend's dog, and to be honest, at first I thought he was the most annoying dog ever. But after dog sitting him a few times, I learned that he was quick to please me and if I didn't like him barking all the time, he just didn't. It was crazy, actually. He became quite affectionate and it made me sad to send him back to his owner. But about a year ago, his owner was no longer able to take care of Archie, so she offered him to me! Oh my goodness, I was so excited to take him into our home permanently, but the only problem was… I couldn't afford him. Luckily, I was living with my brother at the time, and he has a soft spot for the little guy as well. So he agreed to take on Archie's bills as long as I agreed to take care of him.

Well, as most of you know, I just moved out of my brother's house last month, and left little Archie behind. It breaks my heart sometimes to think about it. But right now, he's sitting on my bed (only moments after I took this photo) as I sit here writing this post. I'm dog sitting him this weekend, you see, and I couldn't be happier. I just hate to give him back. There's a little Archie sized hole in my heart without him in my home. What do I do? I seriously miss this guy. I've contemplated kidnapping him…. running away into the witness protection program… or even buying my brother his dream dog so that maybe he could give up Archie. But I'm not quite sure any of those options will work…

Aww he’s so sweet… I would totally want to steal him. Maybe you can work out some sort of deal with your brother, a joint custody type thing? You get him every other weekend or something? Haha.

Oh! I have no idea how you can give him up, it must be heartbreaking. :( I’m having to leave my pup behind when I head to London later this year. Not looking forward to that part of leaving :(
