Our Kitchen Renovation

Our home has been covered in tarps with the contents of our kitchen displaced in boxes. It seems I’m always looking for something or other, and usually what I’m looking for and can never find is that elusive thing called time! Oh, but it’s gratifying to be in the midst of a kitchen renovation and see such dramatic changed take place in our home. I’m documenting the process over at A Beautiful Mess, so you should go over and check it out! Here are the kitchen posts I’ve shared so far:
- Planning a Budget Kitchen Renovation
- Refinishing Kitchen Cabinets
- Cleaning, Painting, and Drilling into the Brick Wall
- Reconfiguring Existing Cabinets for a Fresh Look
There are already quite a few dramatic before and after photos! I can’t wait to share the grand reveal! (When it’s all finished, that is. Will it ever end?)

I’ve loved seeing these pictures of your kitchen renovation! We’re getting ours redone very soon – it’s one of the few house projects we won’t be tackling ourselves…mostly because we need to take out an obnoxious load bearing wall and none of our cabinets are worth salvaging. But yours is looking incredible!
What you’ve shared so far is lovely! Will you be sharing more on your butcher block counter? I’ve been considering it for our kitchen, but I haven’t decided quite yet!
Yep! I’ll be sharing about the butcher block counter in the near future. It was definitely a compromise for us, but we love it so far! I’ll share my opinions about in along with how we installed it.
I hear you…we are in the middle of renovating our whole, if tiny, house. I can’t find a thing and plaster dust is everywhere. It’s awful but so wonderful because when it’s done, it will be beautiful. Good luck with the kitchen…it’s looking good so far!
Hi Mandi! I LOVE the posts you’ve shared thus far! From the glimpes we’ve seen, your new kitchen looks beautiful. I really appreciate how in-depth each post is and especially love how you share what you would have done differently. I’ve mentally bookmarked your posts for the day I (possibly) renovate the kitchen in my (currently non-existent) house!

I’ve been following on ABM and it looks amazing! I can’t get over the painted brick, it turned out really beautifully!
I cannot wait to see the big reveal! Everything you have done so far looks so good!

Oh good. I am excited to hear where you got your countertops and all the details. I am torn between butcher block or doing the Rustoleum countertop makeover.
I am so excited to find your blog!! I heared about you on an episode of Elise Gets Crafty and had to find you (aka stalk). I love that you are representing Ohio in such a fabulous & stylish way!! Sometimes we get a bad rap!
God bless you! Being without my kitchen would drive me insane! :)
Looking forward to see how your kitchen turned out!
