WHAT WE WORE: Queens of Ice Cream

What do you love the best about your city? When my friends come to visit my lifelong home of Canton, Ohio, I always feel a little bit bad when they ask me what they should do before I leave, and I respond with an emphatic, “ICE CREAM!” I’m sorry! It’s just what I love the best about this city! I’m sorry that my visiting friends are usually paleo, and typically wouldn’t enjoy the other unique Canton alternative— The Pro Football Hall of Fame. Ice cream is just what we do best. And I’m certainly alright with celebrating that, no matter what the season, but especially during our humid summers.

We went to Taggarts on a little ice cream date as a family last weekend, and Phil took some Momma/Lucy style photos for us to share with you. Here are the details on what Lucy and I wore:

M O M M A :  Dress: Avenue Antiques (Canton, OH) / Shoes: Clarks / Belt: thrifted
Necklace: Hartville Flea Market / Shorts: Nike (from my volleyball days!) / Crop top: thrifted

L U C Y :  Basically everything is thrifted or hand-me-down. (per usual!)

These pictures are so adorable! Lucy looks so much like both of you. In that sheer blue dress, you look like the hippest mom there ever was, and super pretty to boot!

I just had to comment to let you know how much I LOVE your hair right now! It is perfect for summer. You look just beautiful, Mandi.

Crazy cute! I love the crop top and shorts over your eyelet dress. I kind of live for bike shorts – or any form of tight athletic short – and they’re so easy to throw under a sheer dress or shorter skirt.

Ice cream is definitely a huge hit right next door here in Michigan. I’m trying to control myself to one cone a week! ;) Thanks for sharing.

So, so adorable! Lucy looks like such a happy kiddo! I’ll be in Dalton, OH in two weeks visiting family (and I usually live at the Dalton Dariette when I visit), but I think I might just have to pop over to Taggarts!

That blue dress is fabulous! I bet it breathes really well in the heat of summer. I wish I looked nearly as adorable and done-up as you two on a daily basis :)

I found a dress very similar to that here in Dublin (Ireland, not Ohio) but didn’t buy it because I was pregnant and didn’t know if it would ever fit. Still regret it, even more looking at your pics. You gals are gorgeous!

  15. I LOVE Taggarts. It’s one of the places my husband and I miss most about living in Canton. We’d also frequent Milk and Honey. I think I’ve probably lost some weight since moving to Wadsworth, where we’re unfortunately lacking in the ice cream area.

  16. Your daughter looks so cute! :)

I love how you do both “wear” posts and aren’t afraid of putting your kid out there. I have been thinking of doing a style post for my son but I feel like I will have to buy so much more clothes lol

    Lovely blog!
