Mandi’s Most Wanted: Andy Warhol Art

Have you ever stumbled on an inspiring picture that you just can’t get our of your mind? When I saw this living room picture from Lonny Mag, I was instantly obssessed. The floral wallpaper, fun art, and glamorous bar cart! So lovely. But where could I find art like that for my home? Well, I recently found the answer!

The heart art is an Andy Warhol piece, and I can buy my own from Art.com. I never studied Andy Warhol in any of my college classes, so I wasn’t familiar with much of his work besides the Campbell’s Soup Cans and Marilyn Monroe. I was surprised to find quite a few of his pieces that I’d love to have in my home! Right now I’m saving my pennies to buy my own framed piece from Art.com, and am so relieved that they actually have affordable framing services too! (I just found out how expensive custom framing is- yeow!) I’m thinking we’re going to spring for the Elvis, or as I call it, The Douling Elvises. How fun would that be?! Which one is your favorite?

:) I’m a huge Andy Warhol admirer. If you ever get to Pittsburgh definitely check out the Andy Warhol Museum. Some of my favorites by him are Lips, his ’64 Flowers, his Beethoven portrait, and John Wayne!

I was just going to suggest the Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh! Mike and I keep meaning to get there ourselves — it’s only 2 hours away but we never seem to make it! It’s on our to-do list for sure though. :)

My husband and I went to the Warhol Museum when we were dating – very cool! There’s a Warhol exhibit coming to the Massillon Museum in June. Pretty excited for it!

A gallery here in Lubbock, tx has a few original Andy warhol’s. I really like the knives, and the ice cream cones.

    Love Warhol!

Pat Catan’s has the least expensive framing of all the art/craft stores I’ve been to in Ohio. I’ve been able to frame so many things inexpensively over the years. Check it out if you haven’t before.. I think the locations in Akron/Canton area do framing. :-)

One of my best friends used to work in framing there during our college years (we were both interior design majors). I wish she still worked there, because she could have gotten me some framing done at cost! Oh to go back in time. :) I was looking at prices at JoAnn, and it was outrageous! Even with their 50% coupons that they always give out. Craziness. I used to work at their corporate headquarters, and our employee discount was only 10%. Soooo, yeah. Not much help there. Ha!
