WHAT LUCY WORE: Baby Elephants

vintage baby fashion

God bless the ultrasound. Seriously. Yeah, sure, they facilitate modern medical miracles, but also, how else would mega planners like me survive the 9 months of pregnancy? I needed time to get lucky at the thrift store finding cute baby clothes. I needed to know if it was okay to paint the baby’s walls pink (I wasn’t setting out to break any gender stereotypes.) and buy polka dotted everything. Well now that Lucy’s here, and we’re talking about someday having number two, I’ve found myself being more careful about what I buy for Lucy’s wardrobe. Ultrasounds don’t reveal genders years in advance, so who knows if I’ll have a boy or a girl next time? If the next one’s a boy, I’ll be sort of prepared with a few of the gender neutral things I’ve been finding for Lucy lately, like this cute little elephant sweater. But just because I’m a cautious planner doesn’t mean I won’t indulge every now and then with a pair of super girly pink baby jeans! I mean really, how could I not?

Funny, a couple of people have made that Snow White comment before! I think that’s the cutest thing. Maybe it’s the dark hair and light skin?

haha don’t touch her hair just yet, you hair dresser! :) Who knows when she’ll get a cut, but I have visions of a cute little toddler running around with locks of curls around her shoulders. Lucy will be back to show off her outfit again in a couple of weeks. :)

I had my miracles 26, 25 and 24 yrs ago and I too with the first baby got neutral clothes. I don’t regret it one bit. It gave me times to see the newest addition in the same outfit worn by the first born. You are a smart mama. Love her little head of hair.
