WHAT LUCY WORE: Pretty Plaid Flannel

Welcome to a new regular feature here at Making Nice in the Midwest! Betcha you knew this was coming, eh? I figured I should get this started now that Lucy is fitting into some of her cute 0-3 months clothes, and before I have to pack them away and shake my head wondering how she managed to grow up so quickly.

When I was pregnant with Lucy, we found out she was a girl a little past my halfway point. That very day I left the thrift store with a few bags of baby clothes, and the rest of the Summer visited garage sales, resale shops, and charity sales to put together a cute collection of clothes that will last her quite a while, if I guessed her sizing right! When we’re at home, she usually just wears plain white onesies or simple sleepers, but it’s so fun dressing her up when we go out! At seven weeks old, here she is in the first of her outfits I’ll be sharing- and I labeled where the top and jumper originally came from, even though they were both resale shop purchases.

She is so cute. I don’t think I even saw an infant with so much hair!

  3. Nice feature! I will enjoy this. You know she looks so much older due to her lovely long and many hair. My boy was just the same and never really looked baby-baby if you know what I mean :-)
Enjoy your fall days over there!

She’s a doll (and what a head of hair on her!)

This is so cute. Since babies grow so fast, it really does seem like thrifting and garage sales would be the best way to outfit them out.

Yes! I’m so happy you are doing these posts! She is so sweet! I’m not even pregnant and I still end up leaving thrift stores with bags full of baby stuff ( i try to keep it neutral), as you never know what you’ll find. Some things just can’t be passed up.

Hope your little family is settling well with all these changes!

  22. I know everyone else has already said it but…that hair! She is darling and that outfit is perfect. I think I did the very same thing when I found out I was expecting a little girl and went out and stocked up on cute vintage dresses!
