Outfit to Scrabook: Fancy Country Girl
It’s time to bring back one of my favorite blog features! It’s been way too long since I’ve scrapbooked or done much creatively just for kicks and giggles. When I saw the femininely disheveled look of this outfit from Vanessa Jackman’s streetstyle fashion blog, I thought it would be great inspiration for a scrapbook page. Here we go again!
To mimic the disheveled appearance of the outfit, I hand made a lot of details, by painting elements I had hand cut out of white cardstock. As a backdrop for my photos, I simply peeled the back off of a flap from a USPS flatrate box. Piercing the white journaling spots with a hole punch was a way to translate the pierced leather cowboy boots into another scrapbooking element. Stitching, paint splatters, and jagged lace create a backdrop similar to the pretty vintage dress from the photo.
With a lot of leftover materials and a little bit of paint, the transformation from outfit to scrapbook page was simple, easy, and fun!

This is such a neat feature! I’m not a scrapbooker, but I love looking at them :) You’ve captured the essence of the photo perfectly!
Yay! I’ve missed your pages – the little lace cut-outs and the painty green have me smiling. :)
LOVE those boots.

This is such a fun idea–I really like it! Also, that’s an excellent interpretation of the outfit. You did a really great job on it, and I’m looking forward to this being reinstated as a regular thing.
As a scrapbooker and a loof street style this is my favourite feature on all the blogs I read, seriously I mean it, I love this feature and I’m so glad you brought it back! I’ll have to give this idea a go myself, hmm… off to find some nice outfits.
Mandi you are awesome, thanks for the inspiration.
Oops, that was supposed to be a “lover” of street style not a “loof”, Doh!
Yay, scrapbooking posts! Have always loved your scrapbooking style so am really pleased that you have brought it back.
I’m also thrilled to see this feature again.
I’ve recently gotten back into scrapbooking again, after a 2 year break, and I’m loving it, especially doing project life.
Hope we get to see more :)
