Inspired by Cinema | Halloween Costumes Part I
You may or may not have noticed that I’m trying to keep things seasonal around here with some semi-scary (or seasonably appropriate) movie posts, drink recipes, and now some fun costume ideas for the up-and-coming holiday we all fear and dread. Just kidding, I know you’re looking forward to it! Excuses for binge candy eating and dressing up in crazy clothes? Yeah, I’m in.
If you follow me on Twitter, you might know what I’ve been cooking up for this year’s costume. But don’t think that I haven’t considered being Tippi Hedren’s Melanie Daniels every. single. year. Maybe one of these days I’ll actually do it. But in case you’re interested, here are some ingredients I found available online for your very own costume from The Birds.

I was definitely thinking about making a costume out of it – that green suit is so iconic, with a few birds attached I’m sure it would be a hit!

No waaay! This is EXACTLY what I decided on for our costume party next year! I had an epiphany at dinner Saturday night that, since it’s one of my favorite movies, I had to do it. If only I could convince the husband to play the part of Mitch! We have a Halloween Costume party every year and this year’s theme is 80’s, so it won’t work…but next year. I’m doing it. :) Classic movie, classic Tippi Hedren as Melanie Daniels. And I have a whole year to keep an eye out for a similar outfit at the thrift store! Love it! :)

I was totally her for Halloween 5 years ago and NO ONE knew what I was. Maybe if I had that cute green suit, it would have made more sense!

this would be such a great halloween get-up. i think you could so pull this off! :) it reminds me, i believe kansas couture did this same costume once for halloween too! lol. it’s a great costume though….good luck with it!
oh my gosh lol I’ve been considering this for years and now they actually have the costume for this. I really wnat to do it but I bet I’d look weird with that wig and my dark brown eye brows.
