Going Canine Crazy in a Kitschy Way
“I think it’s time we get iPhones this month,” Phil said, surely expecting me to jump up and down with excitement that this long awaited moment had arrived. Instead, I just shrugged my shoulders.
“I’d rather have a puppy.”
“Really? You’d rather have a dog than an iPhone?” Phil’s surprise turned to incredulity.
“Uh, yeah! Are you seriously surprised by this? Puppies are all I’ve talked about since we had to give up Archie last year! Can technology give me wet kisses when I’m lonely, force me to exercise, entertain me with ridiculous shenanigans, cuddle during long work hours at home, and tilt its head to the side when I talk to it, never daring to retort?”
I don’t think so. Puppies beat technology- hands down! But while we’re on the hunt for the perfect little doggie to rescue and love, I found this little ceramic guy at the Antique Mall and had to bring him home to keep my old Domino Magazines company while I spend my downtime browsing Petfinder.com.
Aww, cute eh. I remember a time when collie dog statues were very much in fashion, mostly due to Lassie ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lassie ), I think. I myself had a life size Lassie poster on my bedroom wall as a child. I am assuming this little guy is a border collie? If not, he is cute anyway lol.

Awwwww wonderful! I agree pups are way better than iphones! We’ve had our puppy for 9 months now and it’s the best decision we ever made!!!! And yay for adopting!
Dogs are definitely way better, and that’s from someone who loves technology, and would love an iphone! I have a gorgeous little silly spaniel :)

You know, the sad thing is there is probably a puppy or dog app that you could download on your iphone, but nothing beats the real thing :) Your ceramic dog is so cute though!

I’m longing for a pup, too. We already have two cats, and I love them with all my heart, but I would love a little canine pal to take on walks and join our little family!

I want a puppy too!! But I am allergic to their little hair! But there are many breeds I can’t get with ” real” hair. Like a toy poodle!
