Nash Bash Part Two: Kyle’s Camera

IMG_0840

Finally feeling recouperated from our whirlwind of a trip to Nashville, the piles of clutter around the house are beginning to disappear, and Kyle even got around to giving me his photos from the weekend! I am so excited. Maybe I’ll even scrapbook some of the photos? If I’m feeling ambitious.

Our friend Jeremy’s band just moved to Nashville, so thankfully we were able to spend an evening with him as well. (Jeremy pictured three photos up; my gummy laugh at something funny Jeremy did, one photo up). We all decided it was the best night we had experienced in quite a while. Nothing particularly exciting happened, just good people.

So, I guess I don’t have any terribly exciting adventures to tell you about. We did steal away into a used bookstore for a while, where I dissappeared into a low corner and found lots of biogrophies I wanted to buy. When I went to find my friends, I saw them in the back of the store, lining up an audience of toy dinosaurs who would listen to Austin and Jess read exerpts from existentialist books.

Kyle brought an array of vintage cameras to play with. I can’t wait to see how the polaroids ended up coming out, and if he was able to develop the film in the camera with the viewfinder. (I’m not sure what that one’s called.)

Also on the disc of photos Kyle gave me, there is a short video and a few images of my most recent tattoo experience. I’ll be sharing those with you this weekend when my arm is healed enough to photograph. Hooray!

Scrolling through these I stopped and thought, “Mmmmmm Woodchuck Hard Cider”…it’s very hard to find out here in California but it’s so dang good. :)

Yay for Yuengling Lager! It’s my fav beer, but I only get it a couple times a year now that I live in the Midwest.

  5. Audry says:

That type of camera is called a twin lens reflex. The viewfinder shows you what the top lens sees. The film is exposed through the bottom lens. I’m curious about what brand of camera that is.

  6. Kyle says:

@Audry it’s a Yashica Mat 124. Still haven’t gotten that roll developed but I will eventually, I promise!

  8. Audry says:

@Kyle – Neat! I have a Rolleicord and a Rolleiflex. Both were gifts. Both are amazing cameras.

  9. Kyle says:

Daaaang, I’m super jealous. You got a 2.8?

  10. Audry says:

@Kyle In the interest of not clogging up comments with camera talk, is there a better place to message you? I think you might be more interested in the Rolleicord as it was only produced from May 1937 – January 1938. It still works perfectly.

I couldn’t have possibly picked more perfect folks to spend the weekend with. We shall have to disappear here again quite soon.
