Clothed for the Season
First of all, let me admit to you how out of my comfort zone this outfit is. I found this dress at the thrift store and threw it into the cart, only taking time to contemplate it's style once I was at home. When Phil saw it, he raised his eyebrows. "Kinda loud," he said. Which made me even more determined to make it work.
My attempt to tone down the loudness was to wear it with different layers of neutrals. Oh, and a necktie to bring a vertical element into all of that horizontal madness. Probably wouldn't have done the tie if I didn't have the vest, though. I think it would've been a bit much.

I think this is pretty fun, but I guess I tend to be a fan of loud clothes. Reminds me of Margot Tenenbaum.

You owned the loudness:) I really like the colors of the stripes. If the color scheme was something like lime green and neon pink than maybe it’d be loud, but these muted colors are pretty together. But I know what you mean about having a vertical element.
