Child Visitation Day

When Phil and I moved out of my brother’s house after living there for two years, it was freakishly like a divorce. During the time we lived there, the three of us acquired a wonderful hand-me-down dog. When we moved out, not only did we have to split up  furniture and other belongings, but also the little boy, Archie. My brother, Matt, got custody of Archie. It was heart breaking,

Fortunately, this week I had a lot of things to do at my Matt’s house. Laundry, printing, photographing his home for Apartment Therapy, and of course, visiting this little guy. He was so entertaining and affectionate as usual, but by the time I left, I was so sad that I wouldn’t see him again for another week. Phil and I are talking about getting another dog, but it breaks our hearts because we are afraid whatever puppy we get just won’t live up to Archie’s awesomeness!

We’ve had quite the education this week on dog breeds and although we’ll probably try to get a rescue for a number of reasons, it’s been enlightening to realize what we’re probably getting into. I hope we end up with a dog we’re equally as fond of and hope that you guys can find another fantastic puppy.
Great title to this post, by the way. ;)

  2. awww that’s so so so sad!!! I love that your dog is playing with a popple!! haha. That’s awesome.
When we moved to where we live, we had to give my dog to my parents to take care of because there was a no-dog policy and the place was 10x better than where we were (and bigger since we had a 1 bedroom and now have two sons who share a bedroom of their own). I’ve missed my dog and my parents don’t really like her. :( really sad. We’ve lived here for 3 years now and I really hope that we can have her back before she gets too old or dies (she’s 9).

He’s so precious. Parting with furbabies is the absolute worst! But you should definitely get another pup. They can just be half brothers and have play dates. It will be awesome. :)

Not only is Archie cute I also rather surprised myself recognizing his toy as a rather soggy Fuzzle. I haven’t seen one of those in.. wow. Decades. :D

I see you little one is demolishing a popple. When I came home one summer, I saw that my dog, Bree, had been given one of my popples by my dad. “Dad,” said I. “Where did you get that?” “In that bag of toys you don’t want anymore.” “Those were ones I was SAVING for future spawns!!”
Ah well, at least my doggie was happy!
