Outfit to Scrapbook: Blue Collar Ballerina

2010_12_08

For this outfit to scrapbook transformation, I really wanted to emphasize the color blocking and casual sophistication of the outfit. To mimic the pleats of the skirt, I used a paper crimper on sage green patterned paper.

Keeping the color proportions relatively the same, I laid out the page, using pink paint similar to the color of the shirt and black stitching to add the casual pocketed vibe. The littler details included punching out holes below the bottom photo to mimic the holes of the belt, and adding a bold black “k” to give a similar feeling of the shoes in the outfit. Sure, the page isn’t a dead ringer for the outfit, but inspiration has to start somewhere, right? :)

Hello there! I love the outfit you used for inspiration. I was wondering where you found that paper crimper. Ive never seen one before but after seeing the effect it produces, Ive decided I definitely need one. Thanks!

    Hi Ariel,
I found the paper crimper at a local chain craft store: Pat Catans. It’s kind of like an A.C. Moore, I don’t know if you have either of those around you, and to be honest, I have no clue whether or not they would even sell them any more. Good luck! xo
