Tattoo Inspiration
Lately I've had difficulty falling asleep. My mind has been filled with tattoo ideas… I just can't seem to settle on something I feel is perfect. I definitely felt like I was ready for the help of a professional! And by professional, I mean in addition to hiring a tattoo artist, I will be collaborating with a calligraphy artist for my text one. It will be making its debut sometime around next November.
Tattoo location: front and inner part of lower left bicep. Concept: Don't Lose Heart, Ohio.
I'm just not sure how literal I want to get with this- Ohio state outline, or not? I would like the style to be a bit fancy (like the calligraphy below) with a little funk (like the album art above). Pretty much right along the lines of May Belle's calligraphy (first image). I'm just not sure a state outline will jive or not.
So, what do you all think? (Mom, I know what you think. But don't worry, it will be tasteful, not large, and easily covered up with mid-length shirt).

woo-hoo!!! i love them! especially the album cover font. can’t wait to see what you end up with!
They look beautiful!! I’ve been trying to come up with the perfect shoulder piece (about the size of yours) for a while now and finally nailed it last week so I’m crazy excited and itching to go and get it done!! Can’t wait to see your finished tattoo! :)
I really love the idea of adding calligraphy and the state. I have the outline of Ohio tattooed on my back with lyrics on the inside. Makes me miss it there <3
take all of your ideas to an tattoo artist or two and see what they come up with. if you don’t like it, obviously don’t use it, but they will know better than anyone what will look good when it’s put together.
I love the idea of hiring a caligrapher to do something! i’ve never thought of that before, but it makes total sense! just make sure it’s tattoo-able!
good luck!

I think a loose state outline will be splendid with the calligraphy. And glad to know my mom’s not the only one squeamish about her daughter getting inked. :)
