Hammerpress Gig Posters

Hammerpress

Lately I’ve been gazing at these rad posters from Hammerpress. The way things are going with decorating around here, our home is becoming pretty heavy with vintage this and vintage that. It will be nice to have something fresh and modern hanging on our walls. Saving up my pennies!

(If you know of any other good gig poster designers that have shops online, please link up in the comments section! I’m sort of obsessed with seeing everything that’s out there before I make the simplest purchase decision.)

Okay, a long comment from a long time lurker…
Little friends of printmaking (http://thelittlefriendsofprintmaking.com/oops/) and aesthetic aparatus (http://www.aestheticapparatus.com/products.php?subsection=posters&fs_page=1) have cute posters, but as far as I’m concerned, hammerpress is drool worthy by far.
I do have a tip though, Hammerpress has deals on their posters at their open shop on the first fridays of each month. If you ever come visit Kansas City, firstly let ME know, and secondly, make it for the first friday, and you can mosey down to their studio and get some posters and experience the art scene here.
Alternately, I went to art school with Andrew Neyer, and his posters (though not gig, but still very neat and graphic) always sold like the dickens when we had printmaking sales.

We have a great Ben Harper poster that I found online but it is also in this Etsy shop:

I am the same way about home purchases these days. We are on such a tight budget that I want to make sure I spend my money on exactly the right thing. :)

Hey There! I’ve been following your blog for a bit now and really enjoy it!
I grew up in KC, so very familiar with Hammerpress. In fact, I’m a printmaker too. I have a dear friend, Doug Wilson, who is a gifted designer and sells his letterpress works through Keep Calm Gallery.
    See Doug here: http://www.onpaperwings.com/

I just read a post on lovelydesign.blogspot.com about all the posters on her walls, and she has some links to some of the gig posters she has up. I haven’t checked them out, but it would be a good start. Good luck!

  10. Ah – some of my faves are already listed here! :)
I do quite enjoy Cricket Press’s posters: http://www.etsy.com/shop/cricketpress?section_id=5397887
They’re on the more bright & mod side of things, but lovely nontheless. :)
    Have fun shopping!
