Apartment Hunting! Again.
Remember last year when Phil and I went apartment hunting for a new home? Well, we just weren't ready to leave the area at the time. And so we stayed. But guess what? We're finally ready and we are going to be moving out of my brother's home here in a month or so.
In fact, we think we may have already found "the one!" I've gotta say, I've driven by these apartments since I was a child, dreaming of someday living in the gorgeous castle-like building. And now it's quite exciting that we may actually have that chance! As you can see, the apartment's architecture is very much in the style of Tudor-Revival. I mean, just check out that ginormous carved fireplace! So I can definitely foresee my style evolving during the two years of our lease. Maybe a bit more of the Arts & Crafts style I was talking about a couple of months ago?
We filled out an application with the manager (I think he's also the owner), who I was so happy to see is a very nice guy who actually knows Phil's parents. So rad. He has even given me permission to paint the trim white and do some work in the kitchen, if things work out that we get the apartment. Fingers crossed!

super cute apt! fingers crossed that you get it :)
i’ve been a lurker reader of your blog for some time now… and um… i HAVE to post now….

Wow! THat apt is awesome! WIsh the apts here were anything like that! There’s very little character, but we finally found one with a little bit that we’ve been in for almost 6 months now! :)
Oh my! It’s gorgeous! Good luck, hope you get it, and we can watch as you make it yours!
I totally understand your love with the vintage style-got my fingers crossed that I’ll get the brick house I applied for that was built in the 1920’s. Beautiful doorways and hardwood floors, simply glorious!
Good luck with the apartment; those pictures look charming! ?

i hope you get it! i can’t wait to see what you do with it!!

This apartment looks gorgeous!!! I can’t wait to see what you do with it. I am moving 2 weeks today! Eeeep! I am kicking myself for not taking pictures of it when we went to view, but I guess we will still have a bit of a surprise element when we move in of discovering things we had forgotten about. It’s so exciting when you get that vision of yourself living somewhere and know it’s ‘the one’. :D
oh that is gorgeous, i’m a little jealous. good luck!!!
that apartment is amazing! i really hope you get to live there! :)
oh it’s beautiful! my father is a contractor and once he was hired to actually tear down a HUGE gorgeous craftsman house that had been turned into apartments. Before the crew started, he let my brothers and I run around and it was so exquisite that I was terribly sad to see it get torn down… gah. I love that there are people who still value that old architecture and quality… they don’t make them the way they used to!
CUTE place! I love all of the architectural details. Its funny – we recently moved from an arts and crafts home to a more modern place and you will be doing the opposite. It is funny how a home can totally change your style.
OMG good luck! That place looks WONDERFUL!
Ooh…it’s lovely! So much character! :) Officially jealous of how rad it is…it’s so hard to find affordable old buildings around here! Good luck!!
great place!! so are you taking it?
