Tattoo Talk
Last night I began the sketch for my next tattoo. Back in the day when I first thought of such a tattoo, my brother said to me "Ah yes. That looks like the letterpress coaster Mikey Burton designed." "Mikey Burton?" I asked with curiosity, as I was thinking of the Mikey who went to the same small (25 graduating students) school as me and my brother. "Yes. Mikey Burton."
The following events were so coincidentally shocking, that I feel this tattoo is even more destined. I googled our high school friend Mikey Burton and quickly discovered that he has "made it" in the design world. How awesome! So, beaming with pride for him, I checked out his website and saw the Ohio letterpress coaster he designed. Shock. So similar to what I was thinking for my own tattoo! (I later decided to have more of a script style to my design in order to make it my own and to achieve a more feminine style.) But wait. There is more. Checking out more of his work, I saw that the very same poster I hung in my brother's bedroom when I was styling it last November is designed by Mikey!
Ah! Apparently we are of like mind. And I feel that this tattoo is destined to be. Eta? Sometime in June.

I do like a good coincidence story – how special for you [and also totally freaky at the same time!].
I’ll look forward to seeing the new tattoo.
:D
destined? I would say so!! LOVE the tattoo idea, I’m currently planning my next one also…but, takes time.
Love it! Can’t wait to see it!
That is really too crazy cool! It is definitely a *sign* from above! :D
That is a beautiful design! ANd a lovely message as well
Oh hurrah for new tattoos! It is a gorgeous design, and I love it when you click with another designer like that :) Can’t wait to see how this one turns out!
so fun!
where did you find that lovely bed in your brother’s room? did you make it, you crafty kid?
That is too crazy! I love stories like that…
Nice. I’m from the c-bus, and Ohio outline tats (Ohio Pride!!!) are all the rage in our quaint cap city. Doesn’t make them less meaningful, though. Cheers to the midwest!
