New Hambly!
Believe it or not, this blog started back in the day as a way to share my scrapbook and crafty projects with the world. However, life changes, and nannies quit being nannies. And when said nannies move on to other grand things in life, they lose much of the time that was formerly spent indulging in pretty paper and aromatic glue. So, the crafty side of my blog has suffered as a result of my full-time-student status (and let’s not forget that awesome internship! I am not complaining, by any means!).

I do have a question actually. I love the look of machine stitching across paper like in the first and second images. I tried doing that myself, but I seem to be having some thread tension issues. The lower thread is all loose and loopy on the bottom side of the paper. I’ve tried adjusting the tenson for both the upper and lower thread, but it doesn’t seem to work. Do you have any tips? Should I be using a particular needle?
hooray for hambly!! what are those letters you used to spell my name?
Eeek! :) Yay, craftiness! I love your crafty posts – and am so excited to see your pages pop up every so often on here. :) They’re the best – you just rock the Hambly, always, so well.
Elissa,
I have had some issues with my tension as well. Sometimes, though, it has to do with the way the bobbin is threaded or installed. Sometimes, just replacing the bobbin fixes my issues with jamming. But, if you are having problems with the thread being loose, I would say it is definitely a tension issue. I’m not sure about changing the needle, to be honest. It’s worth a try, though!
i looove these all :) especially the first one :)
Amazing creations!
Just wanted to let you know we?ve nominated you for a Happy 101 award! Check it out at http://nerd-nest.blogspot.com/2010/04/blog-awards.html
Thanks for the tips. I figured it out and it was a bobbin issue. Apparently the bobbin thread had worked its way out of the little slot that controls the tension so it was completely loose underneath. btw I love your style of scrapbooking!
your pages are always so amazing !!!
loving the yellow layout =)
Vanessa, the letters that spell your name on this layout are printed on and the font is just plain old helvetica. You need a wide format printer. ;)
Super cute layouts. Now I’m inspired to get into my scrap room and create, after cleaning the bathrooms that is!
