Wardrobe Wednesday- Blue Plaid
What kind of girl would wear a mini dress in the (almost) wintertime? Okay… I know I wear some silly things, but in my defense, it was unseasonably warm, and I didn’t even need a winter coat on Monday! A girl simply must take advantage of these moments in December. They are few and far between.
This is my vintage ’70’s Pendleton blazer (thrifted, of course). It’s my compromise for the boyfriend jacket. I’m still not quite sure curvy girls can pull off that look. I need all of the structure I can get, lest I look like a blob. To girlify it, I paired it with a mini dress with a bit of a full skirt, ruched gloves, and victorian boots.
When wearing these sort of boots, I always match them to the color of my tights. It lengthens the look of my legs. This particular pair has a 2 inch heel, which is also a nice boost for the legs.
This necklace is one of my favorite handmade buys on Etsy. It’s from the White Owl shop. You simply must check out their selection. I love their creative reuse of vintage and delicate materials! I thought this particular one was a nice mix of edgy and sweet.
So, I’m enjoying the charm of these mild (almost) winter days. Next week will probably involve heavy coats and fur collars once again.

Such a pretty outfit. I love the combination of the white tights & white boots!
The white with white does look really nice, I think. Are your legs normally short? They look fine! Beautiful photos.
I just wanted to say that you are
so beautiful!
trust me, curvy girls can definitely pull off the boyfriend jackiet. It looks great on you! Have you ever seen the musical ‘Oklahoma!’? Well, this dress reminds me of the the engenue, Laurey. Very sweet!
so cute. you pull off the jacket quite well, the gloves are also a nice touch :)
lady where did you get those fabulous gloves?
i need to find some before we leave for paris. my poor little fingers are going to freeze!
great look, as usual.
i LURRRVEEE wardrobe wednesday!
Chelsea,
Oh my gosh, YES! I love Oklahoma. My brother bought it for me for Christmas last year because he had let one of my friends borrow it and she never returned it, and hten skipped town. :)
i heart kiwiw,
They’re vintage from a local shop. Good luck finding a pair! xo
Victoria,
Yes, my legs are painfully short compared to my super long torso. I try to wear high waisted things and short skirts (much to my mother’s dismay) to disguise this. :)
ummm…how cute are YOU?!
i brought a ton of minidresses and tights with me to nyc for the holiday. teehee. ;)
as always, another darling ensemble. i love it all, mandi.
I think you look beautiful in it!
you are a beautiful woman and your clothing combos are stunning!
Girl..a woman needs to have curves to pull off a dress & clothes like that. I think you look wonderful!
I gotta ask though…are those old photo frames yours? I LOVE them…makes the look complete.
pretty girl : )
