I’ve been rearranging.
In the midst of the redecorating of my bedroom, I’ve been rearranging the living room. I haven’t gotten it quite right, and I’m still deciding if we should have curtains on the window behind the sofa. Right now the window treatment is simply a diffusing shade that cranks up and down.
A few things I don’t like…
1. the lampshade on the side table.
2. the orange and taupe pillows on the sofa.
3. the way the floor lamp interferes visually with the wall hanging.
4. the empty corner that I filled with pictures frames, a magazine basket, and floor pillows.
5. the fact that the fireplace is still unfinished.
6. the cable box and speakers. (the cable box I can live with, the speakers are totally a man thing.)
The far corner is awfully awkward, because we can’t move the little cabinet that houses our electrical equipment, or else the wires won’t reach the television, which is mounted about the fireplace. So it leaves this awkward space that is too small for a chair, but too big to be empty. It’s the reason we’ve always had the sofa at an angle.
So this is what the living room looks like currently. (And this is what it used to look like.)

Congrats!!
Love your furniture, btw.
Dude, I think it looks hot. And I love that taupe and orange pillow. Because my living room colors are orange, brown and blue. And I can’t seem to find cool orange pillows anywhere.
love those pillows on that too fab couch!!! And curtains, maybe some sheer, lacey, eyelet ones?
I love the candles in the fireplace…where did you find them?
I vote for curtains! I think it will become a nice vertical element and add some colour to the white walls :)
I think the place looks pretty and very cozy :)
Are you kidding? This room looks gorgeous! You really made it look a lot better by rearranging. Bravo!
hmmm I like it the other way a little better. and I can say that cos I know you already love me ; )
i heeeeear you on speakers being a male thing.
and there really is no way to make them look good, huh? not that i have found.
they always want them to be bigger and uglier as well. same with televisions. the bigger and uglier the better.
i think it must be the male moto.
the room is cute though. with or without speakers ;)
I really like the pillows, and that rug looks great! I like the old rug, too, but sometimes it’s nice to change it up ;)
I love the new design. it’s always good to move things around now and then. Makes everything feel fresh.
uhmmm… i love the lights from the window!
ooh pretty! what about a plant in the corner?
i love the new design. and everyone has things they don’t like about their house. i, however, would die to live in your living room. it sure beats ours right now. i’m not really happy wih anything in our living room the way it is. :(
but i think it looks lovely and you’ll think of solutions for each of your problems. [i.e.-tell your brother to stop buying up all this MCM furniture, and finish his fire place!]

Oooh…I love your living room!! I would totally pull the orange/red from your sofa pillows and make long drapey curtains that color for behind the couch. :) It’s so rad the way it is, though, too! Call em jealous! :) he he
i love your decorating style.
the pillows are awesome.
i love the scouter pillow in the giveaway.
how did your bike turn out?

Loving that white shell rocker, not to mention all the other cool stuff at your place!
That room looks fantastic. We all see the little imperfections, but from that pic, it’s great. Don’t point out the small things – none of us would have noticed, honest, we’d have just wanted to sit down and have a cuppa and hear all the goss. Truly.
Oh, your room’s already perfect! There’s no need to add some more curtains right there. Your lovely windows can stand up even without curtains. And besides, keeping it plain and simple makes your room even brighter. =)
