Less than 8 weeks to go!
You’ve GOT to be kidding me!
But no.
It’s true.
The arrival of Christmas is swift…
and so I’m beginning preparations now.
Thanks to Hambly Studios,
and my local craft store,
I was able to make some pretty awesome gift boxes
for food gifts,
or whatever little lovely gifts I’m giving this holiday season.
I was so delighted to find shaker boxes
for less than a dollar at a craft store.
And I’m pretty sure one sleeve
of Holiday Rub-Ons from Hambly
could decorate about five boxes, or more!
Finally, cute holiday boxes are affordable!
So…. Christmas gifts!
I have no idea what to say
when people ask me,
“so what do you want for Christmas this year?”
Ummmm…
A canon rebel.
A new laptop.
A high quality wide format printer.
But is anyone going to get me these things?
haha No.
But it’s really all I want.
So what to tell people…
what to tell them.
I mean really. I have no idea.
I know I’m going to get a bunch of crap
that I don’t even want.
Ah well.
I should just say not to get me anything.
But I know that won’t work either.
I guess what I really want is….
A work out partner.
A model for Half Caf. :)
Someone to come over and do crafts with me.
An afternoon of coffee and chatting.
The end of construction on the house.
Someone to make omellettes for me each morning.
A freshly shaven husband each day.
A thrifting buddy.
Shopping sprees at Anthro.
All the stuff you can’t wrap up in a box.
So yeah.
That’s what I want for Christmas this year.
Should I make a list?
:)
Thanks for all of the well wishes.
There have been no changes in Grampa’s health yet…
he’s just still hangin in there.
***EDIT***
Redesigned the blog!
And it feels good. :)
***EDIT TWO***
Well, they’re putting my grandpa on a respirator.
And they had told us,
if they put him on a respirator,
there’s a 50% chance
that if they take him off
he will survive.
Also, my dad has to have surgery again.
Tomorrow.
What a week.
I’m kind of a wreck right now.

Sorry to hear about your grandpa…I can relate to your list!!! :)
Sorry to hear about your grandpa and your dad!!!! I can relate to your wish list!
i’m hoping things turn out okay with your grandpa…keep us updated.
and i can so relate to almost all those things on your list!
Oh, hun. Thinking of you.
Again. We should move next to each other. Because. Seriously, how bout I be your Christmas present? Not egotistical on my part. AT ALL. ;)
I’d be your gift. I’m pretty cute. Somewhat entertaining, late at night. Actually, quite entertaining late at night.
Let’s see what I could be for you–
A work out partner.- Uhmmmmmm. I like to run in the summers. So you’ll have to wait six months for that. I’m a great encourager though, just set me down with mango smoothie and I’ll watch you on the treadmill while yelling…. inspiring things. :D
A model for Half Caf.- Um. DUDE! I’m all over this one. I’m a bit of diva sometimes though.
Someone to come over and do crafts with me.- My name is Kara. I am 16. I do crafts.
An afternoon of coffee and chatting.- DUDE. I’m your girl.
The end of construction on the house.- I’m a hard worker. As long as there is a promise of cookies and smoothies afterwards. And possibly some film. Bribe me with film, people. I dare you!!
Someone to make omellettes for me each morning.- I’ve never made an omelette before. But I make a mean scrambled egg!!!
A freshly shaven husband each day.- I was going to offer shaving him, myself. But, yeah…. That could be a little strange. And awkward.
A thrifting buddy.- :D
Shopping sprees at Anthro.- As long as you’re paying, I’m there.
Okay. Yeah. I’m moving to Ohio, yo.
Thinking of your family, sweets. Love you!
i’m sorry sweetie
sounds like a rough week
sending hugs
xo

so sorry my love. hang in there.
im pretty sure…just as Kara could….i could fill at least 5 of those qualifications (if i havent briefly already)! we can be christmas gifts to each other: )
and loving our picture up there in the corner, and the gift boxes!
miss you
Is it your grandpa from the weekend trip a few posts back? The one that got really anxious and stood up a lot during the game?
My grandpa died when I was too young to be sad enough about it.
I’m thinking of you, girl. And if you think two presents is better than one, I’m sure Kara and I would get along really well on those thrift store trips. I’m just sayin’…
It is like you read my brain with your christmas list!!! Could use someone like that in my life too!!! It really sucks we life so far away from each other!!!
Hugs for you and your family!!!! Hope your grandfather gets better fast!!!
Love ya, Cassandra
Praying for your family. And seriously girl, if you need a coffee/craft partner…duh. I’m here. Just as lonely around here as you. First time will defiently be akward but hey, atleast we like the same things, right? I will join you for coffee any day.
what a week indeed.
Thinking of you for sure.
and dang it for not living closer to eachother.
I know we would have a ball together.
and find tons of great goodies to boot.
cheers to better days.
Ah! Love the list of what you really want…I say, give that out to the fam and see what they come up with! he he…:) A daily omelette-making gnome, perhaps? And my thoughts are with you and your grandpa and dad. Hugs!
*hugs*
your wish list is similar to mine!
sorry to hear about your family, i hope they get better soon!
Your Hambly-ness is so sweet. Hope your dad and grandad get better soon…
OMG. You win for most creative columns on a blog.
haha! i totally agree with your post. i have no idea what to tell people either. because i just want someone to be crafty with. or just a friend in general. but it’s not like my family can wrap someone up and stuff her under a christmas tree… and they definitely won’t be buying me anthro gift cards… they think paying more than $10 for a shirt is over priced.
but what i’m trying to get at, is:
if i lived by you, i would be your crafty friend. and i would let you borrow my macbook, which is collecting dust. and i would let you use our wide-format printer.
i mean… i would if you would let me and wouldn’t think i was creepy. ’cause really, i think i’m being a little creepy… kinda like a love note, but not…
anyway, thanks for being so inspiring. i really want to go buy little boxes and some hambly to make cute stuff like you.
<3katie
first of all, I’ll be sure to keep your entire family in my prayers.
second, the blog looks divine. I especially love the header with the little blue frame. PERFECT!
take care.
the boxes and new blog design are lovely! i love your christmas list… its what i want too! i wish people didn’t spend money on stuff i hate when i’d much rather just spend time together having a cup of coffee or tea, or making dinner for them… its sad the way things are so materialistic these days. :(
well wishes being sent your way.
everyone already said what i wanted to say…. :( boo.
but i will include that i *heart* your new blog design! awesome. :D
can i just say i’m glad I stumbled upon you and your fabulous blog???
