WHAT I WORE | 1930s Collegiate Inspired

Trousers, slacks, pants… whatever you wanna call them, I’ve been wearing them! Not out of the ordinary for the average person, I suppose. But pretty unusual for me. So unusual, in fact, that when I showed up to a coffee date wearing jeans, my friend’s mouth was agape as she remarked on the anomaly before even saying hi. But I’ve got to tell ya, I’ve learned that trousers really do make nursing a baby easier than a dress does. Unless you’re a bit of an exhibitionist, or are a fan of wearing shirtdresses, it’s a rather tricky situation. So here I am! And as Katherine Hepburn would say, “They’re not pants, they’re slacks, and watch your language!”

I hear you about pants! I wear jeans but I am a big fan of dresses and skirts. I have to go to court for a speeding ticket and a friend and I were discussing what I should wear to court(I’ve never had a ticket before) She said probably a shirt and “dress pants” and I just realized I don’t own any. Like at all.
Nursing + fashion Oh yes. It is ever so tricky!!!
I rememeber when I was nursing my youngest girl and every Sunday I would wear a dress or a blouse and skirt. I would try to wear a shirt dress for easy access! There was this one sunday when I didnt realize that I had worn a regular zip up the back dress and I had to hide in the Church’s BROOM CLOSET so I could nurse the baby.So I was sitting in there in my slip and bra with my back against the door. Fun times. I told you once before our life really is like a sitcom!

Oh my gosh! haha! I’ve worn zip up dresses to church, but there is a private nursing room in the ladies’ room where I’ve never seen anyone else, all three times I’ve been in there. Not that another nursing mom would mind seeing me there topless. Ha! But it’s really nice because they have the sermon playing in the nursing room too, so you don’t have to miss out.

      • That is super convenient!!! We need to upgrade to that! I’ve suggested even a baby monitor! haha Because currently the set up is that one must retreat to the church library with a “Do not disturb nursing in progress” sign on the doorknob. Really!!!
