Wardrobe | Back to Ol’ Bette

Sometimes pin-pointing your personal style can be a doozy. Personally, I feel doing so is rather overrated. Just wear what you want to wear, I always say! Who cares if your wardrobe is a little schizophrenic. I’m not ashamed to say mine harbors a few crazy personalities of its own. But I’ll admit, it’s nice to know what works for your body type.

I mentioned last winter that it seems the more layers I pile on, the more 1940s I feel. It could have something to do with my appetite for Bette Davis movies, or maybe a penchant for tailored yet feminine looks. With my curves, I can’t just shlop on any old big cozy thing without looking like a marshmallow and losing any appearance of shape I might have had. So I typically will chose more structured items, like warm hats, and woolly vests- I mean, who would’ve thought I could comfortably wear a sheer blouse during an Ohio Autumn?!

I loooooooooooove the vintage feel of your look today. That fur hat, the gloves and the sheer sleeves are so glamorous! And I totally agree. My wardrobe is all over the place. I can dress professional one day, punk the next and really dolled up the next without shame. ;-)

  22. Katherine says:

Wonderful! I am absolutely in love with that purse; is there any information about the designer inside? I’d like to try and seek one similar to the one you have?

  23. Mandi says:

Hi Katherine! The purse is really lovely. Though, it’s not in the best shape. I love that the inside has a hinged mirror attached! It looks like the buckle on the front of the purse says: Lov, Taylor. Hope that helps!

  24. Katherine says:

It’s still lovely, anyway, and maybe I’ll be able to find a purse like it.

I must say, I love vintage clothing, and you and I have basically the exact same body shape! It is so inspiring to see how wonderfully you can put pieces together – I can’t wait to experiment and come up with my own style! Keep at it beautiful!!
