Movie Monday: Straight Jacket
I’m not really one to enjoy scary movies. But come October, I’m in the mood to watch something a little creepy. Enter: old Joan Crawford. Pretty creepy if you ask me. Hand her an ax, and the creepiness factor multiplies exponentially.
So the movie is about Joan Crawford’s character being released from an asylum 15 years after killing her husband and his lover. She is placed under the care of her young engaged daughter, who thinks her mother might not be over her “sickness.”
The movie is rather corny, with creepy singing children, wigs (I find wigs and mannequins to be corny/creepy), overly dramatized scenes. But if your scary-tolerance is low, and you like old movies, I’d say this one could be a good time. Just make sure you watch it through to the end!
