Wardrobe Wednesday- Zapatos Rojos

I had a mini freak out session when I took off my jacket and noticed a little tear in the sheer sleeves of this lace blouse. A tear! A tear. So I have one question for you. Have you ever replaced the sleeves of a blouse before? I'm terrified to try it. And my frugality makes me even more terrified to send it off to a seamstress.

I wore this blouse last Thursday night when we went out dancing. I paired it with vintage cut off Gloria Vanderbilt jeans, black tights, and black ankle boots. I think sometime during that night the tear happened. Moral of the story? No more vintage lace blouses at the bars.

So anyway… I've been enjoying the nondeadly cold weather as of late. Nondeadly meaning I can step outside wearing only a jacket and only about half of the people I pass will look at me like I'm crazy. It's just that I prefer being less bulky and simply dashing in and out of buildings. I know that I couldn't get away with such a thing if we were to move to Chicago next year… so I'm enjoying it while I can.

Dressing cute when it’s cold outside can be hard, but you look superb! Love how the shoes match with the beanie…

Oh dear, your poor blouse! What to do when a beloved piece starts to fall apart… :( I have never personally mended a blouse, but I know a seamstress would more likely be able to do it.
Maybe you can search around for a tailor that specializes in vintage or older garments? Sometimes the ladies (and gentlemen) at antique shops will know of restorers.

i love wardrobe wednesday! you look lovely. your shoes are amazing! i’m so sorry about the tear. i have a vintage black dress with sheer sleeves and one of them has a tear in the armpit. it doesn’t show so i can just stitch it up easy enough. i don’t know about a tear that shows though!

  9. Cutest outift ever!! Love the skirt & tights 7 socks together to bits! :) And the pop of color the hat & shoes add = genius. You rock. :)
